Two particular memories: On coming back from Europe after an extended stay I visited Jim and Lucy and we spent an exceptionally pleasant afternoon beside the lake in the summer (1985). Second when I was shopping for a second hand vehicle in North Bay, we selected a nice grey station wagon. We learned afterwards from the dealer that it was previously Jim's car. That's called "keeping it in the family".

Fond memories of Uncle Jim when I grew up in North Bay and again when I returned from an extended stay in Europe. He is the last of the three brothers, including my father Bill and Uncle Gordon. Our thoughts are with Shelley, Tim and their families. Chris, Astrid and Katrina

Sad to see the passage of Uncle Jim ... a kind and generous man. We shared a long and memorable history of skiing, fishing and hunting. I recall many moments in that history like the time that he introduced me to pine tar and beeswax for getting grip on cross country skis and the time that he spot welded the bearing races on a pair of roller skis that I made as a teenager and the time that he was carried into my grandmother's house (his home at the time) with twisted ankles after ski races in Temiskaming - that really impressed a very young Dave! We enjoyed many fishing trips together and most memorable those on the Nipissing River in Algonquin Park. I recall too, as a youngster, gawking at 6 pound and 8 pound pickerals lying on a towel on the floor, caught in front of the Four Mile Bay cottage by Jim one evening. We also enjoyed along with my father, Gordon (Jim's older brother) many days and nights at the hunt camp up highway 63..... so a very sad time on the loss of Jim but the memories live on... Condolences to Shelley, Tim and their families from Dave and Jean. Our thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry for your lost. Death is truly a tragic thing to deal with. However the bible say that there is going to be a resurrection at Acts 24:15. So we all do have a hope of being reunited with our dead loves ones. (John 5:28,29) We can believe this because God is the creator of life and the one who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died. (Psalm 36:9 ; Acts 17:24,25) He has also resurrected humans in the past and the bible reports eight instances of humans young, old, male and female who were brought back to life on earth. Some had been dead for a short while, but one had been in a tomb for 4 days. (read John 11:39-44) And finally God hates death, he views it as a enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26) He has a longing to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of this resurrection. He yearns to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again, so until that promise is fulfilled may the God Of Comfort be with you during this difficult time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
