Obituary of Shirley Eleanor Fahlgren

On Sunday November 15, 2015 in her 87th year. Dear wife of the late Gustaf Douglas Fahlgren. Cherished by her children Bart (Jennifer Young) of Richmond Hill, Terry Blair (Don) of North Bay, Kathy Thompson (Trevor) of Markham and Chris (Nancy Morelli) of Bradford who were with her and surrounded her with their love until her passing. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Ryan (Shayna) Thompson, Sarah Thompson (Nathan Schifitto), Trevor Fahlgren and Emily, Alexandra and Ava Fahlgren and great granddaughters Armoury Thompson and Sarina Schifitto. Predeceased by her sister Mary Lou. Shirley was a pillar of the North Bay Community and will be missed by the many people who knew her through her community involvement. She was a teacher at Algonquin Composite School, Chippewa Secondary School and Widdifield Secondary School, real estate agent, Executive Assistant to Ontario Premier Mike Harris, a long-time executive member and judge with Skate Canada, inductee to the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame, volunteer at the hospital and an avid bridge player. Shirley was also very involved with Trinity United Church where she was a member and choir member for many years. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will be conducted at Trinity United Church on Friday at 1:30pm. Cremation to follow at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. If desired donations to the North Bay Regional Health Center Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
