When my dear Uncle Tom brought his friend Joan to meet the family, he was worried that we wouldn't approve. Hard to imagine why, as we bonded instantly with her and shared many laughs over the years. No matter how rough things were, Joan always had a witty story, keen insight and wisdom...served up with strong dose of good humour. She often ended with "...if you know what I mean". (Yes, Joan, I knew what you meant.) I loved her as though I'd known her all my life and I will always miss her and be grateful for the loyal friendship and caring she gave Tom, especially in his final years. My thoughts and prayers to Joan's family at this time. Ellen Whittingham

Nana I'm going to miss you very much. I'm glad that I got to see you as much as I did the past year. I'm never going to forget all the amazing times I spent with you growing up and I doubt I'll ever be able to see the Wizard of Oz without thinking of you :) You were always such an amazing grandmother to me, from baking cookies, bird watching, sleepovers and more I'm going miss you very much. I don't think this has fully sunk in yet but I'm happy knowing you are at peace and resting. I love you Nana forever and always xox

Brian, Jenna and Dillon. So sorry to hear of Joan's passing. Such a difficult time when we lose a loved one but hopefully your wonderful memories will get you through the days ahead. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
