The Horner family sadly announce the death of their dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Patricia “Pat” Horner. Pat died peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Center, on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 after several months of declining health, surrounded by her family, at the age of 81. The beloved wife of the late Fred Horner, who predeceased her in 1987, she was the proud and loving mother of John and his wife Shelley of North Bay. Pat was very much a part of her grandchildren’s lives. She held a special place in the hearts of Rick (Mindy), Ben (Stacey), James (Heidi) and Elizabeth (Adam Walker) and her cherished great grandchildren Luke, Nathan, Westly, Joshua, Abigail, Tyler, Katelyn, Bently, Kai, Madison, Ariyah and Kobe. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters Gen Keen of Sudbury, and Gloria St. Pierre of Lindsay and was predeceased by her sister Aileen. A former resident of Sudbury, she will be remembered by many as the long time secretary at Col. David Younger Public School, a career that spanned 39 years. A devout Christian, Pat was a former dedicated member at Berean Baptist, and Lansing Ave. Baptist in Sudbury. After moving to North Bay, to be closer to her family, she worshiped at First Baptist Church for many years. She loved children and in her younger years served as a dedicated volunteer at summer church camps, bible vocations schools and enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She was a passionate genealogist and kept detailed notes of her research. She was active in both the Sudbury and North Bay Genealogical Societies. Pat’s family will receive friends at Bethel Gospel Chapel, 781 Tackaberry Drive, North Bay, on Monday afternoon and evening from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 4th. A private family committal service will follow in Pine hills Cemetery, Markstay.
