Obituary of Gary Anthony Peever

June 13, 1962 – September 7, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Gary Peever on September 7, 2024. He was the deeply loved son of Laura Boland (Predeceased) and the beloved brother of Maurice “Joe” (Toni). Gary was a special close family friend to Krista McLeod and her daughter Jessica (Chad), whom he deeply adored, Jessica was like a daughter to him. His memory will be cherished by many extended family members, friends, and coworkers.
Gary has now reunited with his beloved Husky Roxy, whom he rescued at Canadore. Known for his loyalty, selflessness, love, and intelligence, Gary shared a close bond with his brother Maurice. Over his 37 years at Canadore College, he was known for his dedication to his work.
In his spare time, Gary was a devoted member, instructor, and Third-Degree Black Belt at the Elite Twin Dragon Club, where he empowered women through various self-defence programs. His kindness, passion, and willingness to help others deeply impacted his martial arts community.
The family extends gratitude to Paul Hummel, the President/Vice President, and the staff at Canadore College for organizing a Celebration of Life for Gary on September 11th. They also like to extend a special thank you to Nattlie Corkery for her touching smudging ceremony for Gary’s family on September 13.
A Memorial Service for Gary will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:30am at the Martyn Funeral Home in North Bay, followed by a time of refreshment.
There are no words to describe the undeniable bond that Gary and his brother Maurice shared.
Gary will be dearly missed but remembered for his kindness, generosity, and spirit. May he rest in peace.
