On behalf of Nipissing Athletics and the Laker family i would like to express our deepest condolences to Krista and the entire Peever family on the loss of a remarkable individual.. On a personal note i first started working with Mel and then with his son. Gary and I became fast friends and spent many hours moving furniture ,painting several walls in and around Canadore College .Over the past 20 plus years we would still kid each other about those days. Gary had a big heart and even gave away some of the prizes he won on the radio on bets he lost in the famous lunchroom banters. I find it very difficult to talk about him in the past tense .and my heart aches for my friend.. I am gonna miss our talks ,our promises to try out the breakfasts at the Bistro ,his laugh and his kidding about me driving my mother in laws car. Every time I see a mop against one wall, a vacuum against another ,a cart around the corner , and the music from a distant radio blaring i will think of my friend. i will think of him. Thank you for sharing him with us-we are all better people for having had Gary cross our path .Till we meet again...say hello to Mel for me Gary....Caroline/Brian Doc Duval
