Obituary of Martin James Pascoe
Martin (Marty) James Pascoe, beloved husband of Carol Pascoe, passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on April 24 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family. Marty and Carol shared 45 years of marriage, built on a foundation of love, respect, and shared experiences.
A loving father, Marty leaves behind his sons Joshua (Layne) and Nathan (Andrea), who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life. He was a cherished grandfather to Gavin, Margo, and Elliot, whom he adored.
Marty was the son of Margaret and Jack Pascoe (predeceased). He is survived by his brothers Brian Pascoe, and Tom (Karen) Pascoe, his sister Sylvia (Fran) Coomber in England, and his sister Lyn (Richard) Hall, all whom he held dear to his heart.
Born and raised in Chaput Hughes, Ontario, Marty began his lifelong career as a miner with Kirkland Lake Gold at the age of 17. He took immense pride in his work, displaying dedication and skill throughout his tenure. Marty's commitment to his job was unwavering, and he forged lasting friendships with his colleagues along the way.
Marty found immense joy in the company of his grand-dogs, whose excitement and love brightened his days.
An avid reader with a passion for poetry and trivia, Marty could be found with his nose in a book, reciting a poem or sharing fun facts with those around him. His knowledge and enthusiasm for trivia impressed many, and was especially helpful when playing his favourite game, Trivial Pursuit.
Marty will be deeply missed by his family including cousins, nieces and nephews, and his life long friends. He will be remembered fondly for his kindness, generosity, storytelling, and the joy he brought to those around him.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
