Obituary of Gordon Hamilton

Please share a memory of Gordon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gordon Lee Hamilton left us on February 7, 2024, at the age of 77, in Venice, Florida.

Gord's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 35 years, Carolle, and a loving father to Paul, Michelle (Glenn) Cundari and Danielle (Dan) Poeta. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Megan, Nick, Nolan and Mason, finding immense joy in watching them grow and thrive.

Gord was a man of many talents and passions. He was proud of his time in the Navy and his work with the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU). His keen intellect and dedication led him to a successful career, where he made lasting contributions.

In his free time, Gord often pursued his hobbies, which included playing poker, fishing, and golfing. Gord loved to putter around and find projects around their new home. While in Florida during the winter months, he loved the park talent shows and participated in weekly karaoke nights. He was a true entertainer and was loved by all.

Gord was a master of wit and humour. There was never a dull moment with him, and he always had a joke ready or a clever retort. His sense of humour lives on in our hearts and smiles.

Gord will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warm smile, gentle demeanour, and unwavering positivity brought light into the lives of those around him. Though he may be gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

As Gord requested, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Instead, a celebration of Gord's life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Fraser Tavern in North Bay, ON, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. For those who knew and loved Gord, you know he would have chosen this location. Join us in your casual clothing to share stories, enjoy sweets, and raise a glass in his honour.
