Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Cassellholme on Sunday, May 20, 2018 she was in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Robert Matheson Horne. Loving mother of Robert Jr Horne of Kitchener, David Horne (Carol) of Kemptville, Janet Finlay (Andrew) of North Bay. Proud grandmother of Rochelle, Rosalind(Nick), Jacqueline (Shawn), Duncan, Ian, Graham, Morgan, Megan(Francisco), Elizabeth and great grandmother of Aidan, Finn and Aurelia. Joan is predeceased by her parents William and Louise Clarke and brothers Ken and Ash. Joan graduated from Hamilton General Hospital in 1949, and worked at St. Joseph’s hospital in North Bay. She also ran the Cancer Clinic Volunteers at the hospital for many years. She was very involved in Manitou Chapter IODE, Canadian Club, the Bridge Club, St. John's Anglican Church and Nordic Ski Club. Family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Friday, May 25th, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery. If desired donations to Canadian Cancer, St. John's Anglican Church or Heart & Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
