Obituary of Lloyd George Alkins

Alkins - Geordie Lloyd July 9, 1923 - July 22, 2013 Geordie Alkins passed away at Nipissing Manor Nursing Home, Corbeil, on Monday July 22, 2013. Lloyd George Alkins was July 9, 1923 in Callander to parents George and Maude Alkins. Geordie joined the RCAF in North Bay in July of 1942 and retired 32 years later. He and his late wife Dora, who predeceased him in 2010, had been married for 61 years. He will be sadly missed by his sons George ( Joanne ), and John ( Diane) and was predeceased by his daughter Cathy (Bill). He will be lovingly remembered by his eight grandchildren Debra, Jason, Chris, Melissa, Kayla & Karly. Logan & Ryland and his four great grandchildren Baelin, Hayden & Devin & Charleigh. For the past five years George was a resident of Nipissing Manor. All of the staff took good care of George. A special thanks to Dale Duncan. The Alkins family will receive friends at Martyn Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00pm until time for services in the chapel at 4:00pm.
