Obituary of Leona Bernice Pirie

Death Notice for Saturday's North Bay Nugget, Toronto Star and Globe & Mail RUN WITH PHOTO PIRIE (nee Dow): Leona Bernice "Nan" Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Center on Wednesday, February 20th, 2013. Nan was the beloved wife of the late Donald Fredrick Pirie (RCAF WWII). Nan was 85 years old. Loving mother of Wayne and his wife Doreen of Bobcaygeon and John and his wife Cheryl of Toronto. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved grandson Cameron. Dearly loved sister of Murray Dow and his wife Kathleen of Toronto, Alvin Dow and his wife Margaret of Nova Scotia and Robert Dow and his partner Steve Eby of Ontario. Bernice was predeceased by her parents Lester and Charlotte Dow and by her siblings Vera, Viola, Isla and Elmer. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Paul and Fran Pirie of Powassan and their daughters Sue and Chris for their love and support. Nan worked for many years in the corporate offices of General Electric. She was an active member of St. Brice's Anglican Church, in North Bay. Visitation for Nan will be held at St. Brice's Anglican Church (1225 Cassells St, North Bay, ON) on Saturday, March 2nd from 10:00 am until time for a Memorial Service in the Church at 11:30 am. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 25th, at 1:00 PM, as Nan's ashes will be interred in the family plot at the Powassan Union Cemetery. If desired, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to St. Brice's Anglican Church, directed towards the Fire Renovations (cheques only).
