Obituary of Frederick Willie Claridge
Passed away on January 5, 2017, in his 86th year. Fred was married for 67 years to Jean (Johnston), of Trout Mills, and is survived by her. His children are Brad (Jayne) Callander, Sue Bale (Bob) Sudbury, Bart (Bailey) Nipissing, Mark (Karen) Callander, Steve (Karen) North Bay, Kent, Whitefish, Beth Ranger (John) North Bay, and Shane, Corbeil. He leaves behing 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is survived by sister Illa Hunt and brothers Garnet and Larry. Fred was predeceased by his son Jeff, his parents Blanche and Bill Claridge, his brother Lloyd, and sisters Elsie, Ruby, Edna, Evelyn (Tootsie), Wilma and Shirley. Fred worked for 25 years as a linotype operator at the North Bay Nugget, before taking up carpentry, construction, and custom woodworking. He loved spending time with his family, bowhunting, fishing, gardening, and drinking coffee with family and friends. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Visitation at the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday January 8th, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 9th, 2017 at 11 a.m. Internment at St Johns Cemetery, North Bay.
