Obituary of William McLaughlan Taylor
TAYLOR: Bill
Passed away at the Algonquin Nursing Home in Mattawa on March 4th, 2014 at the age of 79.
Bill is predeceased by his mother and father, Isa and Alexander ( Alec) Taylor of Scotland, as well as his brothers James (Mac), Alexander (Sandy), and Arthur.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Betty Edna James.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his brother Ronald Taylor (Kathleen) of Deep River, he is the loving father of Gordon Taylor (Lynn) of Kincardine, Angela Stewart (Rick) of Deep River, Elaine Taylor of Kitchener. He will be fondly remembered by Betty’s children, Rodney Whalley (Carrol),of Atitkokan, Chris Whalley (Francine), Les Whalley (Pam), Kim Whalley (Karen), Malcolm Whalley (Cheryl), Colleen Whalley (Jean-Pierre) all of Mattawa. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Leslie, Sabrina, Caitlin, Allison Taylor, Julie, David Stewart, Andrew and Matthew Merola, as well as Betty’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bill was born in Fife, Scotland, May 17th, 1934. Bill served with the Royal Airforce in Egypt and Cyprus. He was a police officer for over 20 years, first as a “Bobby” in Scotland then as a police officer in Toronto and Deep River. He later owned a construction company in Deep River that operated for many years.
The visitation will be held from 1pm to 3pm March 8th,2014 at St. Alban the Martyr Anglican church in Mattawa followed by a funeral service at 3pm March 8th, 2014 with Reverend Karen Galt officiating. Cremation to follow; arrangements made by Martyn Sloan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would gratefully be acknowledged as expressions of sympathy to St. Alban the Martyr Anglican church, 181 McConnell street Mattawa, P0H 1V0.
