My sympathies to your family. I met Cam in about 1985 and we played music together in North Bay for about 5 years before he moved to Toronto and I moved to Montreal. Our bands For Madmen Only and the Perceptors played The Lion's Heart, The Portage, Flipside, The Parkview, The Heritage Festival as well as a few gigs at Widdifield and West Ferris and probably more. Our sets included The Doors, The Velvet Underground, REM, Pink Floyd, Yardbirds and more. Cam and I would rehearse in his parent's basement and we made many musical discoveries together. He turned me on to some amazing stuff and i will never miss these incredible times of our late teens. Man we shared a few laughs! The best thing we ever did was Sonic Messiah: we got tired of the covers one day and decided to switch instruments and do feedback? Turned on televisions and Cam also recited texts from Art Books (I think it was about the futurists). Sadly I don't have any of these tapes any more having been lost along the way but maybe there are copies of them somewhere. I do still have and cherish a few gig posters he designed. He also made me a few tshirts which are long gone. Cam was a deep, complex but kind artistic visionary whom I looked up to and I respected greatly. He was also my friend. He was also my age and i can't believe he has left us so soon and so suddenly. My deepest condolences to his family. Jamie Duquette, Montreal

I remember going to give a talk about El Salvador in Cam's history class at Chippewa. Many years ago. He was an amazing teenager.. bright, informed, engaged, thoughtful, and full of passion at the injustices we were discussing. I think that's the same clear vision that makes his art so compelling. What a loss to his family and to all who would wish to have more opportunities to see the world as he portrayed it. Tender thoughts for his friends and family.

Dear Binnie, Jennifer, John & Family We are so very sad and sorry for your loss. As you may know, we were so taken with Cameron that we named our own son Cameron after him. Although we did not see him much in recent years, we have a wonderful memory of Cameron at our home in Bracebridge. He was only about 19 or 20 at the time and it was amazing to hear and see our piano come alive with Cam’s own mix of jazz and blues. What a treat that was. He was certainly a true and gifted artist and will be greatly missed. Please know that we are keeping you in our thoughts and hearts at this most difficult time. With love, prayers and sincere sympathy, Penney & George
