Obituary of Irene Rosa Laura Hughes

HUGHES (nee Wissell): Laura Passed away peacefully at the Algonquin Nursing Home on Saturday, January 21st, 2017. Laura was the beloved wife of the late Frank Hughes, at the young age of 88 year old. Laura is survived by her son Ricky Cobb, Sharon Boudreau (Roger) and Percy Hughes (Christienna). Survived by her grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Kendall, Julian, Jeffrey, Keith, Jason, by her 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Laura is predeceased by her parents Ida & Auguste Wissell, her siblings Leo, Herve, Germaine (Prevost), Lucille (Labelle) and by her grandson Brent Cobb. She will be truly missed by her siblings Rhea-Laurente-Dupuis (Marcel), Donat (Vernice) and Charlie . Laura was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 254, the Mattawa Senior Citizen's Club and the FFCF. A Memorial Service in the presence of ashes will take place at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 28th at 11:00 am. A Lunch at the Legion will follow. Laura's ashes will be interred with Frank this spring, at St. Anne's Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn & Sloan "Mattawa Chapel". Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
