Obituary of Fernand Joseph Legault

Legault - Fernand (Fern) Passed away peacefully at Cassellholme Tuesday January 10, 2017, in his 85th year, surrounded by his family and after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. He is survived by his wife Germaine (nee Martel) who's love and devotion never ceased through their 59 years of marriage, cherished by his children Venise (Kelly), Ron (Janice), Mike (Tammy), and adored by his grandchildren Laura (Brian), Daniel (Candice) and Alexis. Fern had a special passion for his family, he loved the outdoors and enjoyed sharing his knowledge among them. He had the biggest heart and always had an open door policy for anyone who was in need of a place to stay at any time or just drop in for a coffee. Special thanks to all the staff at Cassellholme 2nd floor for their excellent care in helping our father be as comfortable as possible and prepare him to embark on his new journey into his next chapter in life and also for their kindness and compassion for our mother while she stayed by his side every day. The highway was his life but his true love was his family. As per his wishes, there will be no service or visitations. Fernand (Fern) Legault - S'en est allé paisiblement dans son sommeil à Cassellholme (Foyer) mardi le 10 janvier 2017, après un long combat contre la maladie d'Alzheimer. Il laisse dans le deuil sa tendre épouse Germaine (née Martel) dont l'amour et le dévouement n'a jamais cessé durant leur 59 ans de mariage, ses enfants bien aimés Venise (Kelly), Ron (Janice), Mike (Tammy), et ses petits-enfants adorés Laura (Brian), Daniel (Candice) et Alexis. Fern adorait sa famille. C'est pourquoi il était primordial pour lui de partager sa passion pour le plein air avec ses proches. Il avait aussi le plus grand coeur et sa porte demeurait toujours ouverte pour quiconque avait besoin d'un toit ou simplement pour venir prendre un café. Remerciement spécial à toute l'équipe du 2e étage de Cassellholme (Foyer) qui a pris grand soin de notre père en veillant à ce qu'il soit le plus confortable possible et en le préparant pour sont voyage vers d'autres cieux et aussi pour leur gentillesse et compassion envers notre mère pendant qu'elle est restée à sont chevet chaque jour. La route était la vie de Fern mais sont véritable amour fût sa famille. Selon ses souhaits il n'y aura pas de visites ni de service funèbre.
