Obituary of Sivan Ivy McClenaghan
The family of Sivan Ivy Modeen / Pockele / McClenaghan is very sad to say goodbye to their beautiful, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and auntie. Born in North Bay on May 10, 1929 to Oscar and Lydia (nee Berg) Modeen and died in North Bay on December 27, 2016 surrounded by her children. Much loved wife of the late Julian Andrew Victor Pockele (d. 1987) and Lloyd McClenaghan (d. 2010). Caring mother to Howard Earl Pockele, Ottawa; Ingrid Ann Walker (Kenneth Walker), New Hamburg; and Elise Lynn Marentette (Vern Bolton), Woodslee. Beloved grandmother to Victoria Francis Luxton, Juliana Lynn Marentette and Kelly Christina Marentette. Great-grandmother to Demitra, Alexis and Taylor. Big sister to Elmer Modeen and sweet auntie to Eric, David, Cory and Geoff Modeen, and great-aunt to Jake, Anders, Joseph and Bree Modeen. Her time was dedicated to caring for her family, doing needlepoint and embroidery, worrying about the less fortunate and lighting up a room with her smile. She adhered to the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses and her firm hope in the resurrection to a paradise on earth comforted her during her final days. Thank you to Dr. Saunders and Dr. Venne and the renal clinic at North Bay Regional Hospital as well as the nursing staff who helped make her last few days comfortable. Heartfelt appreciation to her nephew Eric Modeen who selflessly stepped up to help care for her after Lloyd passed since her children were not local. Arrangements through Martyn Funeral Home. Visitation Friday, December 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, December 31 at 11 a.m. Donations to The Renal Dialysis Care Fund through the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation would be very appreciated.
