Obituary of Margaret Eleanor Shields

SHIELDS (nee Brady): Margaret Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Margaret was the devoted wife of James "Jim" Shields and beloved mother of Jim (Cathy Orr), Anne (John Conti), and Emily (Peter Conti). Cherished grandmother to Alex, Nick, Sam and Sophia. Margaret was predeceased by her parents William and Anna Brady and by her sister Annabell (Harold Madsen). Left to mourn her passing are her siblings John Brady (Georgia), Kay Mantha (Moe predeceased) and Nora Smith (David). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, dear friends and also by her Church community. Our mother, mother in law, Nanny, sister and aunt, never sit still for very long. She devoted her life to the service of others. Margaret was an avid knitter, and her one of a kind zipper up the back sweaters, have been given to children all over the world (last count 300). She loved to cook and bake many wonderful desserts. Her sudden passing has left a huge void in all of our lives. Visitation will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday May 29th from 2-4 and 7-9:00 PM. Please join her family in a Celebration of Margaret's life will be held at the Emmanuel United Church (395 Lakeshore Drive, North Bay) on Monday May 30th at 11:00 am.
