Obituary of Della McNeill

McNeill ( Nee Angus): Della May Passed away January 13, 2016. Born in Lower Shinimicas, Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her husband John “Mac” McNeill and her step-daughter Barbara. She will be remembered by her step-daughter Gwyn Scott of Frankford, Ontario. Dearly loved sister of Albert Angus, Grace MacDonald and Mildred Hall. Della was also predeceased by her siblings Harold Angus, Jamie Angus (February 4, 2016), Marion Smith, Helen Bryson and Hazel Prescott. After serving a short period in the Canadian Army during World War II, Della worked in Ottawa for the Canadian Government; she then worked for the RCMP in North Bay, until retirement. After retirement Della and Mac enjoyed travelling, fishing & Curling. Her extended family enjoyed many visits at the house and at the cottage. A Thank You goes out to the staff at The Empire Living Center in North Bay and the Westwood Senior Home in Ottawa (after December 7, 2015). A Special thanks to Al and Norma Johnson for helping Della with appointments and their visits. Della’s family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, April 8th from 1:00 PM until time for a Memorial Service in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 PM. Interment of ashes will follow in the family plot at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a Charity of Choice will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
