Obituary of Austin John Whitehead

Whitehead, Austin With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Austin on January 27, 2016, at age 78. Beloved husband of Diane (Page), loving father of Allisen Gaudet (Gilles-Paul), Laurie Dracopoulos (Tom), and Cory (Shelly nee Sweet). Proud grandfather of six Asia, Xev, Dorian, Evren, Lauren, Torin. Survived by sister Erva Grasser (Ron), brother Warren Whitehead (Cathy) and extended family. Austin worked for Ontario Hydro for more than three decades and retired as Senior Draftsman for Northeastern Ontario in 1993. Many homes in North Bay and area were drawn and/or built by Austin, who started his own custom home design business after retiring from Hydro. Son Cory carries on the business, following in his dad's footsteps. Family will receive friends at the Martyn Funeral Home on Monday, February 1st, 2016, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will take place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. If desired, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation - Renal Unit or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice building fund would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
