Obituary of Terrance John Brent

BRENT – Terrance John “Terry” The Brent family sadly announces Terry’s unexpected death, at the age of 68, on Thursday January 7th, 2016, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Born in Cambridge Terry was the eldest child of Grace Brent (née Read) of Cambridge, and the late John Arthur Brent. He will be forever remembered by his beloved wife Hugie Dépatie, his daughters, Leanne of Cambridge, and Terri (fiancé Anthony) of Collingwood, and his step daughters Lorrie-Ann (fiancé Greg Stewart) of Simcoe, and Kim Dépatie (Curtis Starkes) of Cambridge. His grandchildren Raydon and Donyven and his step grandchildren Chanel, Anthony, Justin and Robyn all held a special place in his heart. Terry will also be sadly missed by his siblings Ken G (Darlene) of Cambridge, Brian of Brantford, Wendy (Rick Gimmell), Ian (Rhonda),Allan, all of Cambridge and Richard, of Burford. A mechanic by trade Terry served as the Superintendent of Transportation for the City of North Bay for many years, retiring in in the late 1990’s. In his younger years he was an enthusiastic stock car racer. He enjoyed living in the north with all it had to offer. He was a devoted fisherman and hunter, and participated in bass fishing tournaments. In the off season he bowled, curled and played darts and expanded his large circle of friends. He remained active with the city sharing his expertise in transit. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. No visitation or services will be held. If desired, donations to the Cancer Society in his memory will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
