Dear Rachelle and family, After the deaths of Harold and Connie, whom I met on several occasions when they visited family in the UK, I corresponded with Edward for many years about our family tree, at first on paper by post, but latterly online. He was unfailingly interested and helpful, although very protective of his immediate family. I had not heard from him for a few years - at that time he had to visit a library to get online and mentioned his health was causing him problems. When I no longer got any response to messages, I tried to get in touch via other Canadian cousins, who told me his sister had passed away but he was still alive, but could not give me contact details. I am very sorry not to have had any more communication with someone I looked on as a family tree mentor and friend. I offer our sincere condolences to you and your family at this sad time. I am so sorry for your loss.Mr Locking was my Science Teacher at Chippewa many years ago.He always tried to be so serious but he really was laughing inside.It was my first class of the day and I was always late, he used to just stare at me when I came in.He would say" Ok what was it today Liane"as he smiled.I will always remember him. An awesome Teacher. Rest in peace Sir

Mr. Locking was my grade 10 science teacher and he was tough...until you got to know him...and he turned out to be one of the best teachers that I ever had. He had a dry sense of humour that was appreciated by his students who were mature enough to understand wit. Brian...I am so sorry to hear of his passing. xo
