Obituary of Murray Jesse Rushton Tipping
TIPPING: Reverend Canon Murray
Passed away into the Hands of God, on Saturday, September 19th, 2015. Reverend Murray Jesse Rushton Tipping, was the beloved husband for 60 years of Joan (nee Perry), he was 89 years old. Loving father of the late Lesley Ann Tipping (husband Brian Pollock), Bob Tipping of Burnaby and Missy Blackburn and her husband Tim of Kelowna. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Abigail, Billy, Duncan, Brenna, and Cale and by his great grandchildren Kemari and Kayanne. Dearly loved brother of Paul of London and predeceased by his sister Joan. Murray will be sadly missed by his congregational family at Christ Church Anglican. Murray was ordained in 1953, after years in the Army and study at Huron College. He was the founding rector of Christ Church and built the church. Later he re-enlisted with the Canadian Armed Forces and for the next 23 years he served as Military Chaplain in many locations at home and abroad. He later became a Correctional Chaplain, working in several institutions. He and Joan returned to North Bay where Murray has continued his Ministry at the Church he help found. Visitation for Murray will be held at Christ Church Anglican (312 Greenwood Ave.) on Thursday from 10 – 11:30 am. A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church Anglican on Thursday, September 24th at 2:00 P.M. Cremation will follow the service.
