Obituary of Emmanuelle Nicole Gunter

GUNTER: Emmanuelle Emmanuelle Gunter died in North Bay on Thursday, September 3, 2015 following a hemorrhagic stroke caused by a brain tumour. Emmanuelle was beloved by many, including her children Kirsten Gunter (Stephen), André Gunter, Marc Gunter (Laura) and Chantal Gunter (Rendell). Emmanuelle was a dynamic and unique Grand-maman to Ariane and Sauvanne, Christopher, Sabrina and Eric, and Solène and Amélie. Emmanuelle was predeceased by her husband Fred Gunter in 1996. Emmanuelle was born in France, October 2, 1940, and met Fred when she was a student in Paris. She embraced the many sports, (tennis, cross-country skiing, hiking, paddling and cycling) offered by life in Northern Ontario. She was also a serious duplicate bridge player and reached life master status. Her brother, Olivier Meltz and sister Marie-France Baleras have arrived from France to join in the celebration of her life. Her brother Bertrand Meltz is too ill to travel. We will gather on Sunday, September 13, 2015 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the WKP Kennedy Art Gallery, Capitol Centre, 150 Main St. East, North Bay. Memories and stories will be shared at 2:30 p.m. In keeping with her wishes, Emmanuelle’s cremation will have taken place. Donations can be made in memory of Emmanuelle to the Warriors of Hope Breast Cancer Survivors Dragon Boat Racing Team or to the North Bay Nordic Ski Club.
