CHAPMAN, Thomas Rayburn (RAY)
At his home on Trout Lake on Saturday, July 18, 2015, we whispered our goodbyes to a loving husband and very proud father. Ray is survived by his wife, Carolynn; his children: Tyler (Amanda), Kori, Christine, Stephen (Nathalie), and Matthew (Jennifer); his grandchildren: Cortney, Joshua and Carver and his brother-in-law, Murray Howe (Cathy). He was predeceased by his parents, Tom & Bea Chapman; his sisters, Eleanor Ritchie and Joan Fair, and a brother, Garwood.
He was so proud of his family and they were always his priority. He loved his home on the lake and enjoyed sharing it with all his family and those who chose to visit. Ray enjoyed his career behind the wheel, first with the TTC and then with Gray Coach Lines, ending his career with Ontario Northland. He loved meeting many new people every day and many of his passengers became friends. He loved the outdoors; fishing for speckles in a little creek or lake back in the bush and then exchanging his rod for a rifle to hunt partridge, deer and moose. Best of all he simply loved to crawl under a tree and lay down for an afternoon snooze in the sunshine and as a result, was always late making it back home. We are so grateful for his love and that he chose us to share his life with.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 21st at the Martyn Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday July 22nd at 1:00 P.M. Interment at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
