Obituary of Jill Diane Prescott

Prescott, Jill (Diane) The family regrets to announce that Jill passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 61 years, on Thursday, May 21, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. Beloved wife of Trevor Prescott for 41 years, dearly loved mother of Derek (Caroline) and Michael. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kaija, Ryan and Brody and siblings David Crown (Gail), Wes Crown (Michelle), Brian Crown (Annette), Jody McNeill (Brian) and Jackie Dube (Andy). Pre deceased by her parents Ken and Jean Crown. Will also be missed by many nieces and nephews to which she was a special Aunt as well as the very special ones she was a "Great Aunt" to. Also many Aunts, Uncles and cousins will miss her greatly. Jill chose a career in nursing which introduced her to many challenges as well as many rewards. Throughout her career she worked in intensive care, critical care, ECG and diagnostic ultrasound developing many lasting friendships along the way and not realizing that, one day, she would require the compassionate care that she once provided. Jill was passionate about the things she loved but nothing was more important than her family and friends. Each one held a special place in her heart and will always be remembered. Special thanks to all the staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre from emergency, medical floors, chemotherapy units and palliative care for your outstanding commitment to providing exceptional care and to Dr. Cowan for the compassion and understanding you provided throughout our journey, it was appreciated more than words can explain. As per Jill's wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 on Thursday May 28, 2015. Donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the North Bay Regional Health Centre Chemo clinic will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Online condolences may be offered at www.martynfh.com.
