Obituary of Céline Marie Michaud

MICHAUD, Céline (née Gagnon) 1927-2015 - It is with great sadness that the Michaud family announces her sudden passing at the Mattawa Hospital on April 27th, 2015 at the age of 87. Céline was the beloved wife of the late Lucien Michaud. She was predeceased by her mother and father Eva and Antoine Gagnon, her son Yvan Michaud, her daughter Lise Michaud and her cherished brother-in-law Rolland Michaud. She leaves behind her five daughters: Régine Bastien (Gary), Claire Backer (Garry, deceased), Sylvie Byrnes, Martine Bangs and Brigitte Michaud. Céline was the loving Nana/Mémère to 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her many brothers and sisters and their families. Céline dedicated her life to her family and her 33-year career at the Mattawa Hospital as a caretaker. She was a very kind and generous woman who touched the lives of many. The Michaud family would like to thank Dr. Mark Wilkins and the staff at the Mattawa Hospital for their care and support in their time of need. Family and friends will gather at the Martyn-Sloan Funeral Home in Mattawa, Ontario on Sunday, May 3rd from 2pm-4pm and from 7pm-9pm. A service at the Ste. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Mattawa, Ontario will take place on Monday, May 3rd at 11:00am; interment to follow at the Ste. Anne's R.C. Cemetary. Donations to the Scleroderma Society of Canada in memory of her son-in-law, Garry Backer, or to the Ste. Anne's Church Beautification Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family. Céline était l'épouse de feu Lucien Michaud. Céline fut prédécédée par ses parents Eva et Antoine Gagnon, son fils Yvan Michaud, sa fille Lise Michaud et son beau frère Rolland Michaud. Céline laisse en deuil ses cinq filles : Régine Bastien (Gary), Claire Backer (feu Garry), Sylvie Byrnes, Martine Bangs et Brigitte Michaud ainsi que ses 10 petits enfants et 18 arrières petits enfants. Céline ne sera jamais oubliée par ses plusieurs sœurs et frères ainsi que leurs familles. Céline dédiât sa vie à sa famille et sa carrière de 33ans à l'Hôpital de Mattawa. Céline fut une femme très généreuse et chaleureuse qui pendant son temps avec nous a touché les cœurs de plusieurs. La famille Michaud aimerait remercier le docteur Mark Wilkins et le personnel de l'Hôpital de Mattawa pour leur soin et tendresse lors de ce temps difficile. Les membres de la famille recevront les condoléances à la Maison Funéraire Martyn-Sloan à Mattawa, Ontario le dimanche 3 mai 2015 de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h. Les funérailles seront célébrées le lundi 4 mai 2015 à 11h à la paroisse Ste. Anne à Mattawa, Ontario; enterrement à suivre au cimetière Ste. Anne. Des dons à la Société canadienne de la sclérodermie en mémoire de son gendre Garry Backer ou des dons à la paroisse Ste. Anne pour la beauté de l'église seraient appréciés par la famille.
