Obituary of John Roderick Scott

At home on Monday February 22, 2016. Born June 21, 1932 in Grimsby, Ontario. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Pearl (Lentz). Loving father of Cheryl Jackins (Bill predeceased) of Nakusp, B.C., John (Ann) Scott of Calgary, Morgan Scott also of Calgary and Walter (Jennifer) Scott of Dundas. Predeceased by his parents Ada and John Scott, by his sister and her husband, Pat and George Gills and by his granddaughter Sarah R. Jackins. Sadly missed by his grandchildren James Jackins of Vancouver, Chris Jackins of Australia, Samie Scott of Calgary and Silas, Finn and Caitlin of Dundas and 8 great grandchildren. As a young man Jack started representing a company travelling throughout Ontario. He loved the north enough that he moved from Grimsby to North Bay March 5, 1960. He then started working for several companies travelling all of northern and southern Ontario and northern Quebec. Jack loved fishing, hunting, reading and driving the car for many, many miles. He was a member of the A.C.T. Jack will be missed by family, friends and the pickerel of Lake Nipissing. No services at this time. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. A celebration of life will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday April 2 from 1-3 pm. Jack’s ashes will then be interred at the All Saints Mausoleum.
