It was a treasure and pleasure to have known this lovely lady. I knew Jewell Ann as one of my colleagues, she had a heart of gold and a personality filled with happiness. She touched the hearts of many and left an ever lasting kindness where ever she went. God has taken another angel home and although she will be missed here on earth she has a special place in heaven at his side.

There were really no words to describe how terribly saddened we were to hear of Jewell Ann's tragic illness. We all loved her deeply. The Palangio's send loads of love to Ray, Andree, Micheline, Aimee as well as Bobby, Michael and Bryan. You all know that, while Jewell Ann always had a huge capacity for giving to others, you guys always came first! From a professional perspective, Jewell Ann truly had the voice of an angel. Working with her was not only a delight but an absolute honour. I am left with so many sweet and beautiful recollections of over thirty-five years of music- making at weddings, funerals, church services, music festivals...even a nation-wide television production! With all of that came an added bonus...Ray's unlimited collection of jokes, stories and anecdotes! What better could a music director ask for? There's no doubt that her voice continues to live on in her girls. Come Wednesday morning, I truly believe that the walls of the Pro Cathedral will begin to smile through their tears when Jewell Ann returns for one last time. In paradisum, deducant te Angeli.

A Methodist friend called out to me this morning as I walked by her home, and when I told her about Jewell-Ann, she quoted the last request of Susanna Wesley, mother of John Wesley: “Children when I have been released, sing a psalm of praise to God.” That seems like good advice now as well.
