Obituary of Desmond Russell Field

FIELD: Desmond Russell Peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Center on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Des was the beloved husband of Antoinette Mary “Toni” (nee Schiavone), he was 80 years old. Loving father of Brad and his wife Julie of North Bay, Rebecca Field Jager of Toronto and Nancy Sherrit and her husband Danie also of North Bay. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tyler, Haley, Samantha and Trevor. Dearly loved brother of Alvin Field and his wife Joan of North Bay. Des was an outstanding Trojan hockey player and football player, and later was centre for the original North Bay Roughriders of the old Northern Ontario Rugby-Football Union, and “he was one of the best”. He was a Chartered Accountant working for the government and with his own firm. Visitation for Des will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 PM and on Friday from 1:00 PM until time for a Funeral Service in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held on Thursday Evening at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery. His family would like to thank the medical staff at the NBRHC ‘s Ward B1, for all the care and compassion they have shown Des.
