It is so hard to believe that it has been a year that we lost our dear friend Mark! People say that the first year is the most difficult as there are so many firsts, which is true although speaking from my own personal experience time is definetly a healer, but that doesn't mean the pain goes away. If I could describe it like an ocean, there are times when it is calm and other when the waves are so huge they knock you over again, and again. Mark, I miss you and think of you often and go to visit you in your final resting spot, even though I know you are not there but watching over all of us and keeping us safe. It warms my heart to know that you are our angel.I will never forget you!

My sincerest condolences to the entire Samuel family. I'm so sorry Kevin, I know you were very proud of your brother and it's just not supposed to work out this way. I hope you will find some comfort in the knowledge of how much care and comfort Mark provided for so many others in his short time.

To Mark's family This is such a tragic loss for your family to cope with. My sincere condolences to all of you. I will always remember Mark for his sense of humor and his infectious smile. He spent many hours at my home during his teenage years and was always such a pleasure to be with. He accomplished so much in such a short life and has made so many peoples' lives better because of his dedication to his work. Sleep peacefully Mark and know that you will always be in out thoughts.

Whether Mark knew it openly of not, he inspired with not ony his words and humor, but also his actions. Anyone who was his " friend" on Facebook can attest to this. From his attempts to cook bacon videos, to his delicious photos of cooking feats, to his outdoors adventures skiing, fishing or on vacation near and far, to his game nights and even his joy of backyard wildlife....Mark truly embodied living a life fully. There were many times where life had me bound with responsibilities and work, i would get on facebook at the end of the day see that mark had posted another fun adventure or video...and it reminded me of true living and the importance of working to live (not living to work) and making the most of simple joys. Mark was never too busy to be with friends, was always in the mood that the moment called for and always knew where to inject a good dose of Humor to brighten other people's lives....such as Nursing morning report at the hospital that always had the room in tears of laughter by the end (thanks for the weather) Never too busy to share a word of encouragement "be strong" followed by a happy face or a thumbs up was a great "Mark" touch. I am one of many who will miss many of Mark's qualities. My saddness is that no one more will be able to see the true quality of life he had,my greatest appreciation is being blessed enough to have witnessed it first hand. Thank you Mark. xo sympathies to family.

I so appreciated Mark as a person and a co-worker at ACT. He was always so committed to our clients and approached the work with dedication, sincerity, caring and humour. He made each day a joy for all of us, team members and clients alike. He leaves a huge void in our hearts. It is with profound sadness that I offer condolences to his family, his friends, his team and his clients.

Mark was my beloved nephew. He was "full of mischief" as a child and was always ready for a joke and a good laugh. He was very close to my mother, his grandmother. When he was younger he told her that when he was "rich" he would pick her up in a limousine and take her for a hamburger. This remained a joke between them for many years and Mom would often chuckle thinking about it. I have so many wonderful memories of a sensitive, compassionate man. He will always live on in my heart.

I first met Mark when I started working at the ACT team, he was quick to show me the ropes and we soon became good friends. We became movie buddies, enjoyed snowshoeing together, playing wii, and campfires. Mark had a wonderful sense of humour and always made me laugh within a minute of talking with him. He always told me "You laugh so easily don't ever change". I surely will try buddy but it won't be the same down here without you. You are my shining star.

Mark was special in so many ways. He was kind, gentle, sensitive to others, and had the amazing ability to make people laugh all the way down to their toes! He was also an exceptional nurse who cared deeply for his patients that he served in the community, he was a stellar co-worker, colleague, college buddy, and dear friend. The fantastic stories that he would tell of his beautiful family, made us feel as though we were in the living room along side you guys sharing in the moment. He will be missed terribly, but he will remain along side of you in spirit always. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Samuel family, you had an amazing son and brother. Lisa

During this difficult time I would like to extend my most heartfelt sympathies. Mark was a kind, caring and amazing person, and I feel honored to have had him in my life for the past 4 1/2 years.I can empathize with what you are going through as I lost my beautiful daughter in a sudden accident as well, just over 14 years ago, she was only 14 years old. Mark and I would have conversations about her, which always comforted me. My condolences to your entire family.
