Mary, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Fred always was the "icing on the cake" to our visits to Little Tomiko Lake. His smile, warmth, and big heart made it easy for anyone to sit and chat with him. You both made us feel welcome and familiar as old friends. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you. Hope and Glenn

Mary and Family, On behalf of Diana, Kayla, and Logan we offer our deepest sympathy to you on the passing of Fred. It is my distinct pleasure to meet Fred through my father. Fred is truly one of the people that I will always count myself fortunate to meet. I smile thinking of a few times meeting up with my dad, Fred, and Tim to enjoy a meal that was maybe just a little too big. Fred was a great friend to my father and meant a lot to him. I know somewhere there will be two friends watching baseball together again. Bob, Diana, Kayla, and Logan Desormeau

I have known Fred for over 40 years and couldn't have ever had a better brother-in-law. He forgot more stuff about the outdooors than most persons knew or would experience in a lifetime. There is not one fishing hole or hunting spot in the Nipissing region especially Tomiko unknown to Fred as he and his father-in-law Tom knew every nook and cranny.
Fred enjoyed many years playing amateur sports such as hockey, curling, and fastball. His Dad and i enjoyed many evenings at Amelia Park watching fastball in shadfly season but would not have missed it for the world. Mike played hockey for many years in the Bay guided by his father's experience and cheered on by Mary. Karen attended Canadore where Fred assisted coaching the fastball team all over Ontario and competed at a very high level.
I cannot recall anything Fred & Mary enjoyed more than an evening of cards at Tomiko or 1410 Pinegrove. Mary-Lou and Mary would team up against Fred and I. At last count I'm not sure who was ahead but in the end we were all winners.
Fred was first to lend a hand no matter the job and certainly was knowledgeable and knew how to fix just about anything. I will truly miss his freindship and guidance in the years ahead.

Mary, the passing of a good man is a sad thing, but when he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, words are quite inadequate to register the sense of loss. You have lost Fred, a person with whom you have shared a lifetime of experiences, and words, no matter how well meant, cannot begin to express the enormous void left in all of your lives. But, from experience I know that eventually you will have none but joyous memories of Fred and I know all of your memories of him will be wonderful ones. In time it will be hard to think of him without smiling and the very shadow of his face across your heart will bring joy. In you, the family and friends, he found so much love and happiness. That miracle remains. I know you are now travelling that dark and lonely trail without Fred in your life. I hope it helps a little to know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

On behalf of Nipissing Athletics I would like to express my deepest condolences to Karen and the entire Bailey family. My fondest recollections of Fred was during my days with Canadore fastball is driving dwn the highway after games ,girls asleep and Fred and Gerry in the back laughing, telling old war stories and dissecting the game in a humerous fashion.I don't know how I kept it together some times....Fred was about the athlete and their inner strength and what they could bring to the game-you didn't have to be a superstar but you had to have lots of heart and willing to learn. We are all better people for having the chance to have known Fred.....heaven will never be the same with Fred and Gerry in the back..look out St.Peter.

Mary, my deepest condolences at the sudden passing of Fred. We have many many memories of Fred at work as well as hunting and fishing with him. Fred did love to hunt and fish, he and I spent many conversations talking about past and future outings. Getting ready and talking about them with a friend was half the fun! He was a very knowledgeable man at work and we all relied on him and his old records to come up with an answer for us when I customer asked something no one else could answer. I will always remember how stoic Fred was, he just never let on anything was a problem. But he was also someone you did not want to anger. I extend my sincere sympathies to you, Mike and Karen and I am thinking about you at this sad time. Tim Adams
