Obituary of Vera Gwendolyn Lecour

LECOUR: Vera Gwendolyn Peacefully at her home on Ruth Lake on Wednesday May 14, 2014, at the age of 83 years. Born in Eau Claire Vera was one of eleven children of the late Robert and Mary Flood. She will be lovingly remembered by Barb Blunt. The dear sister of Marjorie Martin of North Bay , she was predeceased by her siblings Reuben, Irene, Clara Jones, Edith Caplette, Alfred, Lila Nicholson, Lawrence, Donald and Eileen Blakeley. She will also be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews, her canine pal Dolly, and her many Ruth Lakes friends. Vera’s working life began with Dominion Stores in southern Ontario. When she returned to North Bay she worked for many years with The Communicators, a local answering service which catered to clients of all professions from plumbers to physicians. Vera will be sadly missed by her “Call Girl” friends whom she kept in touch with throughout the years. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday May 17th from 12 noon until time for services in the chapel at 2:00pm. Interment will be in the Calvin Township Cemetery on Tuesday May 20th.
