Obituary of David Groulx

GROULX, David Passed away peacefully at the Algonquin Nursing Home in Mattawa on Thursday, March 13th, 2014. Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rita (nee Douglas) and his three children Kathy (Rick), Karen(Richard) and David Jr. Dear grandfather of Matthew, Stephanie, Robert, Renee, Lisa, Kerri, Jacob and Jaden. Sadly missed by his sisters and brothers: Irene (Gerald), Lucienne, Victor (Muriel), Claire (Roma), Beatrice (Raymond), Joan (Mike), Claude and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Yvonne (nee Joly) and his sister Collette. Dave grew up along the Ottawa River. He spent his youth in the bush surrounding Mattawa hunting and trapping. As an adult he became an electrician with his own business. He enjoyed tending to his garden and ‘watering’ his lawn. He looked forward to hunting and fishing, especially moose hunting with his son David. The smell of baked beans or soup on the stove meant Dave was in the kitchen so grab your spoon. And we can’t forget cracking open a cold one at the end of the day. We’ll miss you, Dad. David's family will receive friends at St. Alban's Anglican Church on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10 am until time for a Memorial Service in the Church at 11:00 am .
