We did not know Loralee but her Grandmother was my Aunt (Marilyn Stevens). Aunt Peggy was very fond of her grandchildren and kept us up to date on whatever was new with everyone. We miss her also! Lora was much too young!!

Kin through Canine
Loralee's love for dogs is well known . I would like to think that we are kin through canine. Loralee was always concerned for the pets coming our way and I'm sure she would have taken them all home if she could. On this one occasion, little Zac A.K.A . Pot Roast came into the picture with his sister and her litter of pups. We both cared for them and Zac went home with Loralee and a little puppy we named Lennon came home with me. So Zac is Lennon Uncle, we really enjoyed family reunions . I liked it that we could share in that . The pets must be feeling sad but I'm sure hugs and walks will help a little.

I'd just like to send my condolences out to everyone who knew my mother. Our loss is not the only loss here. So many lost a wonderful friend, an inspiration, a role model and an advocate. My Mom was a lot of things to a lot of people and I hope that we will all continue to hold her in our hearts and help her to live on through our actions against animals and other human beings (she was a part of an animal rescue effort and a crisis center worker). I am sorry that we are all losing a light that helped keep darkness at bay. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Mom would have been so overwhelmed by the love and support being offered. XO

During the time of Lora's illness, I had the opportunity to reconnect with her and share childhood memories. She was always so strong and so positive. She was an incredible role model for me. I wish that I had half her courage and resolve. I will miss her.

We are both saddened to learn of Laura's passing, but are relieved that her ordeal is over. Our hearts go out to Storme and Jim and to Norm and the rest of the family. Her loss will be mourned by many, including the congregation of the Winchester United Church who have been following her trials since the beginning of her illness.
