Obituary of Gloria Margaret Moore

MOORE: Gloria M. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Margaret Moore on Tuesday March 11, 2014 at Leisure World, North Bay after a brief illness. Gloria is survived by her aunt Lois Douglas, her niece Glonanne Hopper, and her daughter Elizabeth; her niece Mitzi Newman, and nephew James Allen. Gloria was predeceased by her husband Rodney, her parents Gertrude (English) and Clifford Edwards, her sister G Adelaide Newman, and her husband Bruce, her nephew Greg, and her cousins Gert and Bert Allen. Gloria was an executive secretary at Imperial Oil from May 1, 1945 until her retirement on December 31, 1980. As well she supported Rod’s business, The Thomas Company Jewellers, from January 1965 until his retirement in 1980. Gloria and Rod spent their retirement years travelling and dancing across the USA, Europe and Canada. They were proud members of the 45 Club. We would like to thank the nurses, psw’s and the palliative care volunteers for the care they provided to Gloria during her residency and illness. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday morning, March 15th from 10:00am until time for a memorial service in the chapel at 11:00am. Interment of ashes will take place in the spring in the Edwards’ family plot at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery.
