I was so saddened to hear about the loss of Uncle Edgar. He was a wonderful man who always had a smile on his face. I grew up with many of the Montreuil "kids" and always remember him making us laugh and being silly and goofy, even when on duty. To Barb, Lori, Jenn & Mitch Ed was a great man who no doubt was respected by all he met. He loved his family. He was an easy going gentle man who easily made friends. I will do my best to try and be the best grand dad to Kloe and Ethyn for both of us. I wish we would have had more time together, perhaps we will go fishing when we cross paths again. No doubt he is going fishing with St Peter.

I have known Ed most of my adult life and he always told people it was because of him that I was an OPP. He did play a big part in me becoming an OPP because of the person he was. A hard working, caring and giving community member that we will all miss. Barb and family, I wish I could be there for you, but circumstances don't permit it at this time. I didn't know Ed very well until this past year. He would come into the restaurant and tease me about my cooking, the thickness of his milkshakes and the fact that I couldn't make french fries worth a darn! But he always made sure to make me smile no matter what kind of a day I was having - I'll miss hearing "Keep smiling, Kiddo".

I will miss them phone calls of Ed calling me to go for breakfast at Ron's. "What do you say we go at Ron's for breakfast kiddo, my treat." He would say but when it came time to pay he would ask me to borrow a few bucks cause he did not have enough money with him. Of course I would never see them few bucks again LOL.

I had the opportunity of knowing Edgar and his family all my life. We all hung together - the Blakes, my uncle Vaughn - on Murphy's ROad when my grandfather still had his farm way back when. My condolences to Barb and all the family. He was a good man.
