Obituary of Myrna Lowis Madigan

MADIGAN - Myrna Lowis After recently suffering a stroke long time North Bay resident Myrna Madigan died peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Saturday January 2, 2010 at the age of 73 years. For the past 51 years she has been the devoted, loving wife and best friend of Harold, whom she married on November 15, 1958. The proud and loving mother of Lori Deschesne (Mike) of Chatham, Ont., and Tom (Sheri) of North Bay, she will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Amanda (Mike Desjardins), Alison, Michael, and Amy and her great grandsons Brayden and Cole. Dear sister of Norma Quirt (Wayne) also of North Bay. Born in Iroquois Falls on January 2nd, 1937, Myrna was the daughter of the late Norman and Doris Ehler. She moved to North Bay at an early age, and after completing her elementary & secondary education enrolled in the nursing program at the former St. Joseph's Hospital. Graduating in 1957 Myrna remained a dedicated, compassionate member of the nursing staff at St. Joseph's for the next 35 years. For the past 18 years Myrna and Harold have enjoyed retirement together, travelling, gardening and spending time with their cherished family. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home (across from city hall) on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until time for services in the chapel at 3:00pm.. Spring interment in Terrace Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Diabetic Association, the Heart & Stroke Fund, or the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
