Obituary of Ethel Ellen Miller

MILLER – Ethel Ellen The Miller family sadly announces the death of their dear mother Ethel, on Thursday January 18, 2018. She died peacefully, at the Water’s Edge Care Community, with her children by her side, just a few days before her 102nd birthday. Ethel Ellen (nee Hanson) was the beloved wife of the late Michael George “Mickey” Miller, who predeceased her in 1963. The proud and loving mother of Royce and his wife Cherry, of North Bay, Marilyn and Sally both of Ottawa, and Susan also of North Bay, she held a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren Kate, Nick, Teri, Trevor and Royce Jr. and her great grandchildren Benson and Elliana. She was predeceased by her brother Vern Hanson and her sister Geraldine Burgess. Born and raised in North Bay, Ethel worked for many years as a Ward Clerk in the maternity ward of the former St. Joseph’s Hospital. In keeping with her wishes her body will be cremated. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 noon until time for a memorial service in the chapel at 1:00pm.
