So many memories growing up! George and I have the same birthday, I was born at supper time and he said he was born earlier in the day and held that over me jokingly for many years. On behalf of myself, my parents (Anne and Peter Thorsen) Sharon and Tim, I offer our sincerest sympathies for your loss.

In memory of George, the coolest guy in our neighbourhood and the self-proclaimed king of mischief. Growing up, I looked up to George as he was always doing cool stuff. Crazy jumps on his bicycle or flips off the dock. George was a few years older and alway included me and my older brother in all the fun. I also remember Mr and Mrs dePencier and how welcoming they were to me and my family up on Lakeheights Rd. I loved swimming in your backyard and the thrill of hearing George’s street bike tear down Wallace Rd like he was auditioning for a Fast and Furious movie. Watching George ride his Kawasaki on one wheel was both impressive and a little terrifying. He was a delightful menace, but always respectful to my family. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. George’s legendary spirit will forever be with us.

So sorry and shocked to hear of George’s passing. George and Heather were some of the first people my sister Catherine and I met when we moved to Wallace Road in 1970. We were in school together from E.W. Norman, Fricker and Widdifield, in fact George was my first boyfriend in Mrs. Newton’s grade 4 class and I remember he gave me 20 valentines for Valentines day! Such innocent times. We also socialized and enjoyed a few beverages in high school. I will always remember George for his mischievous smile.
Again, very sorry for your loss.

George was my best friend's brother, and as we all grew older and wiser and wider, he always remained a joy to be around.
