Obituary of Jean Martha Parker
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Parker at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday October 11, 2024, at the age of 86. Jean was born on November 20th, 1937, in Uno Park ON (Temiskaming Shores) to parents Harry and Martha (Butcher) Parker, predeceased. Jean is survived by her sister Elsie Josefowich (Dan-deceased) and is predeceased by her sister Shirley Lamb (Pat-deceased), her sister Toots (Alva) Walsh (Doug-deceased), and her brother Harold Parker (Muriel a.k.a. Mus-deceased). She is also predeceased by her nephews David Lamb and Ken Walsh and her niece, Tracy Walsh. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews Brian Lamb (Darlene Thompson), Steve Lamb, Cheryl Lamb (John Montemurro), Patti Lamb (John Lintner), Barry Walsh, Brenda Walsh (Cathy Rennie), Mike Walsh (Debbie), Jill Spina (Rob) and Mark Josefowich and by her great nieces Sylvia Spina (Roman) and Julia Spina. Jean was a constant in all our lives and was always there to support us in our endeavours.
Jean worked for Ontario Power Generation (OPG and formerly Ontario Hydro) until she retired at the age of 56 years. She was an avid golfer and curler and was a member of the North Bay Heritage Gardeners, a train conductor for the Heritage Railway mini train at the North Bay waterfront and a volunteer at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Jean also thoroughly enjoyed watching many sports and discussing the various teams and players. She was always up for a good laugh and a lively discussion. Known for her silly sense of humour, Jean was the life of the party at social events and at family gatherings. Family dinners were always fun when Aunt Jean was present.
We wish to thank the staff of the North Bay Regional Health Centre and the staff of Barclay House for their kind and compassionate care of Jean.
As per Jean’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Donations to the North Bay & District Humane Society in memory of Jean will be greatly appreciated by her family.
