Obituary of Terrance Colin Crawford McQuillan
In Loving Memory of Terry McQuillan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Terry McQuillan on August 15, 2024, at Nipissing Manor. Terry was a devoted husband to the late Barbara Swain, with whom he shared over 30 beautiful years until her passing in 2019.
Terry was a loving father to Tanya (Dean), Troy, and Tahl, and a cherished stepfather to Michael, Roxanne (Peter), and Christine (Daryl). As a proud Bompa/Papa, he adored his grandchildren Khala (Jon), Kourtney (Josh), Morgan (Drew), Craig (Tiffany), Trevor, Andrew, and Riley, and he was blessed to be a great-grandfather to 7.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Mona and Alex McQuillan, his dear sister Jackie (Allen), his brother John "Bucky" (Suzanne) and his niece Darlene. Terry leaves behind cherished friends Wayne and Alice, and Sterling and Donna, who brought joy and companionship to his life.
Born in Espanola, Ontario, in 1936, Terry spent his formative years in High Falls and Nairn Centre. He dedicated many years of his life to working at Inco until his retirement. Terry had a passion for the great outdoors, finding joy in hunting and fishing, and he took great pride in his garden. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs, often sharing his enthusiasm with family and friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful neighbors on Patrick Avenue in Sudbury for their unwavering support throughout the years. A special thank you also goes to the exceptional staff at Nipissing Manor, whose loving care and dedication made Terry's final days comfortable and filled with dignity.
In honour of Terry's memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral service; cremation has taken place, with interment to follow at Civic Memorial Mausoleum in Sudbury.
We love you, Dad. You will forever remain in our hearts.
