Although we hadn't seen as much of each other in recent years, I have so many fond memories of Jim(my) from the time his family moved to North Bay, and the many times his parents and later when he, Sheryl, & James shared their fabulous place with us on 4 Mile Bay. Always a joy to be with: interesting, funny, kind - too many positive attributes to enumerate. RIP, Jim. Big virtual hug to his family - His oldest cousin, Jeanne Halet Syms (aka Jean Anne).

I still find it so hard to believe that Uncle Jim is gone… I cherish the memories of the visits out to the lake and his sense of humour and funny stories and sarcasm! I always enjoyed listening to the banter between him and my dad. I will remember all of the enjoyable boat rides - especially in his big pontoon boat that he was so proud of - that he would always make sure to take the time to do. There is now a big void in the Norrie house and in the lives of all who knew him. Our condolences to aunt Cheryl, James and Catherine and the boys.
Lots of love from Teff, Rick and Isaac. xoxoxo

My sincere condolences to the 'Lovely' Sheryl, James and family.
Jim Norrie was many things; larger than life, greatest golf partner ever and one of the best friends you could ever ask for. Being in his presence always meant you had a smile on your face.
Thank you Jim for Johnny Rivers and vodka water with a slice of lime.
So many great memories.
Rest easy my friend,
Jeff

My sincere condolences to the Norrie family. Jimmy was a friend and neighbour. I looked up to him as a boy because to me he was a mountain of a man, and that really never changed. Always friendly, Jimmy was like another brother to me and my brothers. We lived just down the street, so we knew each other well. I am deeply saddened to see he is gone, but happy to have had Jim in our lives.
Sincerely, Ted Brown

North Bay lost a great guy yesterday. Anytime you bumped into Jim, you knew you were in for some laughs. I have great memories of our times at Demarco’s and playing football against him where he would always make his presence be felt. My deepest sympathies Sheryl and to your family.
Sincerely,
Claude Brunette

Antonia and I are shocked and saddened by the news of Jim’s passing. I kept in touch with Jim over the years since CHS and will not forget our good times. Here is a photo from 1991 that expresses his good nature.

Jim was a wonderful man and a great neighbour. Many times he expressed his love for, and gratefulness to live life on Four Mile Bay. Shorewood Road is a sadder place for his loss, He will always be remembered in our hearts as one of the “originals” for his long association with Shorewood Rd and Trout Lake, in addition to his many years of service to the City of North Bay. All the best to the entire Norrie family.
