Obituary of Mae Leda Lapensee
It is with great sadness and much love that we say good-bye to Mae Leda Marie Lapensée (née Groulx) who passed away with her children by her side on April 19, 2024 at the age of 91. Mae was born on April 30th, 1932 and was a beloved sister, mother, Mémère, and friend. Mae was pre-deceased by her sister Ella, her son Gilles, and her husband of 68 years, Fern.
Mae was a committed, hard-working, and upstanding member of her community with a belief in God that would not waiver. She will be remembered fondly by her sister Estelle, her daughter Madeleine Lapensée, her son Jean Lapensée (Audrey), her grandchildren and great grandchildren Heather Parizeau (Brent, Rhian, and Avah), Jeremy Gardiner (Macy and Liam), Diana Lapensée (Mark, Jaelyn, and Adriah), Karyne Lapensée (Kyle and Hailey), Danya Johnson (Eric and Bohdy), and Justin McGuire.
The family welcome all to commemorate Mae’s life on Tuesday April 23rd at 11 am at Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church.
A reception will follow at the Golden Age where a light lunch and refreshments will be served.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northern Cancer Foundation or Alzheimers Society of Canada.
