James William Wardell, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2024, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in his 100th year.
He is survived by his loving partner Marie Dionne, his beloved step-daughter Joyce (Wes) Erney and his step grandson Jason, children of Marie Dionne; Wayne (Rita) Desbiens, Caroline (Eric) Reichstein, Giselle (Paul) Demers, Myshelle (Mike) Guerin, and Debbie (Dean) Schaffer, as well as his brothers Edgar (Theresa) Wardell and Ray (Agnes) Wardell. He will always be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife Hazel (née White), his parents Percy and Olive Wardell, his sisters Jean, Blanche, Norma, and brothers Ron, Cecil, and Stanley. James had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, finding solace in gardening and embracing the beauty of nature. A quiet man with a gentle soul, he adored his pets and cherished the serene moments spent playing country music and dominos with his dear partner, Marie.
A Memorial Visitation in honour of James will be held on April 19, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Martyn Funeral Home (464 Wyld St. North Bay), followed by a Service at 1:00 pm in the Martyn Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James' memory may be made to All Heart Pet Rescue.
