Obituary of Cathleen Marie Kerr
It is with love and heavy hearts that the Kerr family announces the passing of Cathleen at the Algonquin Nursing Home, Mattawa on November 24, 2023, she was in her 91st year.
Divorced from her late husband Ernest R Kerr (Boulter, ON). Cherished and sadly missed mother of Cheryl Sweezey (Shawn) Wasaga Beach, Landra Burton (Bob) Milton, Bonnie Kerr Marysville, WA and Jeffery James (Jim) Kerr Ajax. Proud grandmother and great grandmother of Kevin (Sarah) and Cameron Sweezey, Tara Sweezey and Carlos Gomez, David (Colleen) and Brantley Armstrong, Kent (Samantha) and Henley, Ferris and Preston Armstrong, Katie Pickard and son Orion Spath , Laura Pickard and Taylor Kerr. She was dearly loved and predeceased by her brother Gillaume (Guy) Shouinard and her parents Alfred (Fred) and Angelia (Toots) (O’Grady) Chouinard.
Cathleen enjoyed crafts, baking, sewing and quilting, crewel embroidery and cross stitch. She loved her time spent and involvement at St John the Divine Anglican Church. She was secretary for the Henrietta Sharvel group there for almost three decades, baked countless times and worked the tables especially her beloved whipped shortbreads, a big hit. Cathleen worked in the community at the LCBO for many years.
Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation at Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:30 am to 1 pm. Funeral service will follow at St Johns Anglican Church at 1:30 pm. Burial will take place at Pinehill Cemetery in Mattawa Ontario in the spring of 2024.
