In Loving Memory of Sheena Lazarou

Sheena Lazarou, an exceptional educator, devoted wife, and loving mother, peacefully departed this world on November 20th, 2023 at the age of 53, at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice with family by her side. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to experience the warmth, wisdom, and boundless love she shared throughout her life.

Sheena was born on February 13th, 1970 in North Bay, ON. From a young age, Sheena had a passion in teaching and would go on to teach in the Near North District School Board for 29 years. She profoundly impacted the lives of countless students with her passion for helping young minds grow.

In addition to her dedication to education, Sheena embraced the roles of wife and mother with equal fervour. Her marriage to Peter was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and mutual support. Sheena and Peter built a home filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Her commitment to family was unwavering, and her children were the centre of her world. Sheena’s approach to motherhood was characterized by patience, understanding, and a genuine desire to instill in her children the values of kindness, resilience, and a love for learning.

Sheena loved traveling with her family. She enjoyed spending time in Prince Edward Island, Washington, D.C and Walt Disney World. Sheena spent many hours knitting, sewing and creating crafts throughout her life. Those creations will be kept dear to her family. Peter will cherish the time he spent going on long walks with Sheena. She was a devoted fan to the Leafs and Blue Jays and spent many nights watching the games with her family. These wonderful memories will be kept in our hearts.

Sheena was predeceased by her mother Susan Beveridge (2010). She is survived by her loving husband Peter, her two children Hayley and Brenden, her father Tom Fletcher (Lee), her two brothers Tom Fletcher (Kim) and Dave Fletcher (Dana), her brother in-law Steve Lazarou (Michelle), her Aunt Linda (Al, 2023), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her three dogs.
