Brenda Holbein

Obituary of Brenda Holbein

Please share a memory of Brenda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Farewell to my family and friends.

I fought a good fight but unfortunately the cancer took over. My final resting place is the Nipissing Serenity Hospice and what a beautiful place. Calm, peaceful, and the best care ever. How fortunate we are to have such a wonderful facility.

I was blessed to have a wonderful son, Kurt Blaszczyk, my beautiful daughter-in-law, Abby, and the sunshine in my life, my two grandchildren, Nolan and Penny.

I leave behind so many great relatives and friends and what adventures we had. Please do not be sad but celebrate my life and carry on with the craziness!

I had such fun volunteering. Big sisters blessed me with two beautiful little sisters, the elf at the kettle, helping out young mothers through Trinity United Church, gardening at the waterfront, and assisting the talented Joel in the kitchen at the Hospice.

I want to thank my wonderful, creative home care nurses who visited me every day. You were my angels and kept me going. Thank you to Dr. Jinnah who was always there for me.

A very special thank you to my sweet cousin Callie who moved in with me and gave me tender, loving care, my wonderful cousin Perri-Rae Boell (Rob, Callie, Shelby, Brady) my very special little sisters, Bethany (Mason) and Sharleen (Brent, Sarah, Megan, Aimee), My brother Bruce (Sharon) and nephews Marc and Paul. And, who can forget my crazy friend Louise who was always there for me. How fortunate that I had you in my life. It was a tough journey, and I could not have done it without you.

It is now time for me to seek out another adventure. If you see a dragonfly, it is me checking up on you!

As per my wishes, I have been cremated but a celebration of my life will take place later so please come out a share your stories and laugh with each other. I will be there in spirit so watch what you say!

‘til we meet again!!
