Obituary of Robert Albert Caverly
Robert Albert Caverly, 93 of North Bay, Ontario passed away on November 11, 2023 at Waters Edge Seniors Care Community, North Bay, Ontario.
Bob is survived by his wife, Betty and his children Billy Caverly (Susan), Wendy Seery (Mike), daughter-in-law, Bonnie and his step-daughters Debbi Kennedy and Kerry Butler (Jon). He will be greatly missed by his 7 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by loved ones Jack, Hattie, Betty, Jean, Robert Jr. and John.
Bob was born in Kirkland Lake/Chaput Hughes, he resided for many years in Virginiatown before moving to Labrador City to work for the Iron Ore Company of Canada as Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. After retirement he moved to North Bay.
First and foremost, Bob was a devoted and loving family man. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. For many years, he was President of the Labrador City Trap and Skeet Club. Bob had many colourful stories of his hunting and fishing adventures, we will miss his mischievous and playful spirit.
Throughout his life, he followed the “do unto others” rule and he was honoured to be awarded a lifetime membership to Anik Masonic Lodge in Labrador City.
Dr. Brian Shaw was his longtime physician and considered him his friend.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Pier 3 Staff, at Waters Edge for their kindness and support during his time with them.
As per Bob’s wishes, he will be cremated and in the spring, interred in the Caverly Family Plot at the Silverland Cemetery near Cobalt, Ontario.
