I was so saddened to hear of Richard's passing. He was my close childhood friend growing up together on Elm St. South in Timmins Ontario. We spent many hours playing music together. I got to know his parents and met most of his siblings; they were such a warm and loving family. I have fond memories of the house on Elm St., and of his mother who was always so kind and patient to our antics. Richard was a very kind soul; he was genuine and cared for those who were his friends. I often think of him each time I pick up a guitar and begin to play. My condolences to his family, and to all who knew and appreciated him. We have lost a very talented guitar player, and true and genuine soul.

To Richard's family and in-laws, our sincere condolences. Nos sincères sympathies pour la famille de Richard. Je l'ai bien connu quand je travaillais à la Caisse Populaire de North Bay sur la Cassells, et il était parrain pour ma petite fille Kennedy NIlsson. Il était tellement gentil et drôle, bon travailleur . Repose en paix Rhichard.

Dear Diane, Alex, Scott and family, I am deeply saddened to hear of Rick’s passing, much too young. I had the honour of working with him at l’Alliance and Caisse Alliance for many years, you couldn’t ask for better. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
